Card sketch

Just a quick post today to put up my card for the latest card sketch challenge on the Bo Bunny blog!  This is the sketch done by Juliana.

This is my card for the sketch, I used the beautiful new Serenade line.

I made the circular mat for my card by drawing a circle on cardstock and then using one of the smaller flowers from the Serenade stamps to stamp all around the edge of the circle closely together. I then cut around the edge of the flowers leaving a thin margin.

Bo Bunny Supplies Used :
Patterned paper : Trellis, Poppies/Serenade

Double Dot : Orange Citrus Vintage Dot

Stamps : Serenade; Ambrosia

Lace : Harvest Orange Lace

Jewels : Forever Fall; Timepiece

I picked the mesh type of stuff up really cheap at a fantastic shop while on my holiday in South Africa. I got the white because I figured I could colour it but it came in various colours and I really wish I had brought some more now!

If you want a chance to win some yummy Bo Bunny goodies then make a card using the sketch and leave a link on the Bo Bunny blog here

Back From Holiday and Clustering!

I am back from my holiday to South Africa to see my wonderful family!  It was a fantastic month but just waaaay to short.  You would think that a month would be a really long holiday but it is amazing just how fast that time goes especially when you are with lots of different family and trying to fit lots of things in.   We always have a list of things to do and never manage to do all of them!  But it is now back to the real world and back to finding out my poor little car had to be scrapped because once they removed all the outer damage they found the subframe was cracked :(  But at least the other guys insurance has accepted full liability so we don't have to be fighting all of that.

This layout was for an assignment for Bo Bunny that went up just before we left but I just didn't get time to put it up on my blog.  But it does give me a quick and easy blog post to put up while getting everything sorted now that we are back and while trying to get back into the swing of things!  I came back to the most awesome box of the new Bo Bunny ranges, they are all gorgeous and the new blossoms ranges are to die for, but I have not been able to get near any of it yet.  I can't wait! :) But I digress this assignment was about clustering and this was the layout I did....

My best tip for clustering would have to be to use foam tape on some of your items giving different heights which adds depth and then of course I think overlapping is always important!

I also included the measurements to cut out the sun rays and this will give you two sets :)

  Supplies used:
Patterned Paper : Hello Sunshine, Busy Bee, Stripe, Sweetness, Daydream, Cut Outs, Little Things, Sweet Pea/Hello Sunshine
6x6 Paper Pad: Hello Sunshine
Chipboard : Hello Sunshine 12x12 Chipboard
Stickers : Lazy Day Cardstock Sticker/Hello Sunshine
Jewels : Hello Sunshine
Twine

It was Kieran's 12th birthday yesterday!   I just can't believe how big he is getting!  He is almost as tall as me and although I am not really tall or anything I am in no way short, he is definitely taking after my side of the family!  Here he is on Sunday with his birthday cake when we had a little braai/barbeque with the family to celebrate.

 Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Doodling and a Countdown!

Well it has been a while since my last post again for various reasons although to be honest I have not had all that much time to scrapbook anyway so I have only really been working on a commission and not much else!  Unfortunately I also had a car accident a few days ago so have been too sore to scrapbook since then too.  Luckily I just have whiplash, lots of bruises and a couple of pulled muscles but unfortunately I can't say the same about my little car :(  Anyone who knows me well will know how much I love my little car, Paul always jokes that if he had to win the lottery he wouldn't bother buying me a new car because I love mine too much :)   Anyway the guy who hit me drove into the side of me and did quite a bit of damage including breaking the front axle so now we are just waiting to see whether the insurance will fix it or just scrap it.  I am going to be so traumatised if they scrap it!

So the only other scrapping I have done is this layout for Bo Bunny where we had to do some doodling.  I always love layouts that people have doodled on and think it adds a wonderful personal touch.  I used Bo Bunny On The Go for it as I thought is was the perfect range to use for doodling!

I also just had to share these photos of my son who is 9 and his little countdown to our holiday in South Africa.  He made it a few weeks ago and everyday he draws a different little face in one of the boxes counting down.

It is a bit wrinkled from where he scrunched it up one day in a temper tantrum lol but I ironed it out as much as I could for him.
A few close ups....how cute are those planes and the little air traffic controller!

 Just love that luggage truck!
Here is a close up of a few of the faces, lots of made up ones but also some from Minecraft, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Phineas and Ferb and Portals.  I just love the little explanation next to each week like the 'going soon', 'getting ready' and 'packing the bags'

Isn't it just sooo cute!  I love his enthusiasm and excitement for everything and how he is always drawing something for everything that is currently happening in his life!

Speaking of countdowns we will be leaving for out holiday to South Africa soon so I will probably not be posting for a few weeks again and I am not sure if I will get to post again before we leave.  I plan on doing some bloghopping tomorrow as I have not done that for at least a week and will probably not get to visit anyone while I am away either so don't go doing anything that I would want to see while I am away! ;)

Oriental layouts and New Lines!

First up I am quickly sharing these two layouts that were done for issue 62 of Scrapbook Magazine.  They were for an article where the layouts were all inspired by the softer Oriental look.

Now onto the exciting part!  Bo Bunny's new reveals for CHA started yesterday!  Starting off with a new range of blooms that comes in 5 different styles in 8 different color ways  Blush, Buttercup, Clover, Denim Blue, Harvest Orange, Natural Earth, Plum Purple, and Wildberry.   My favourites are the Zinnia...

                                                                        and the Pansy...
That is not all, they have also brought out a range of lace in the same 8 colour ways!

You can also now get the double dot papers in 6x6 paper pads :)  Today's reveal is the first of the new lines and it is called Serenade, this is a couple of my favourite papers and items.
 Just love these stamps!!!
 Totally adore this album!
For more pictures from the line and  for a chance to win some of the new goodies head over the the Bo Bunny blog and leave a comment on each post.  They will be revealing new collections for the rest of the week!

Limited Supplies Layout

For my latest Bo Bunny assignment we were given a limited supply list with which we had to create a layout and then photograph what we had left after we had done our layout.  Our supply list was...

3 pieces of patterned paper
1 piece of cardstock
1 Sticker sheet
1 embellishment pack of our choice (I chose one of the new petals)

We were then allowed staples like ink, paint, thread etc.  This is my layout using the new Hello Sunshine which I just totally adore, it is so bright and happy and just feels like sunshine which due to our total lack of sunshine or Summer in the UK at the moment is very welcome!

This is what was left of my supplies after I had finished my layout.

This is also what I have been doing with all my 'extra' photos.  I always take loads of photos and although I normally narrow it down I still then find it really hard to decide which ones to use on my layouts.  I don't really enjoy doing double pages anymore so this works really well for me as I can scrap the photos I love while still getting to include the ones that I really like and the best bonus is that it is really quick and easy! So I can do my single layout however I want without having to worry about which photos to leave out and then add all the other photos to one of these photo page protectors with some journalling and decoration.   I don't do it for every layout of course but for the ones that have loads of photos this is perfect and I have loads of old photos waiting to be scrapped because I had the problem of too many photos to choose from!

I have also done another sketch for this layout.  Bo Bunny now has a tab at the top of their blog here where they will be putting all their sketches.

After just blog hopping I have just decided to quickly add a few links to giveaways on here!  I have just found Erin Blegen's (one half of the Scrappin Sisters!) blog through the lovely Nadia Cannizzo and she has just started a new blog and is having an amazing giveaway on her blog here.

While I am at it I am also going to include a link to the wonderful Helen Tilbury's blog who is also having a fantastic giveaway!  I have been following Helen's blog for quite a while now and it is always loaded with inspiration and gorgeous work!

That's it for today I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend! :)

Tando Creative Desk Tidy

Just a quick post to share this little Tando Creative desk tidy that I did for an off the page article for issue 61 of the Scrapbook Magazine a few months ago using Basic Grey Picadilly

I decided that I want to randomly put a current favourite song up on my blog so I can remember what I liked when!  My tastes in music vary across a range of music styles so I never know what my current favourite will be.  Anyway this one by Train is the one I am really enjoying listening to at the moment, I find it very catchy and summery and it puts a smile on my face!

More Little Miss

My latest assignment for Bo Bunny was a focus on Little Miss.  This really is such a beautiful and totally adorable range those little girls images in it are just too cute for words!

This was my little sister and myself fooling around in a photo booth when she was over visiting the UK in May.  It did not work like your usual photo booths hence why in the first photo we were still looking up waiting for the instructions!  We then smiled a bit and decided to pull some faces etc but you had no idea when the photos were going off and for some reason it only took photos in between my face pulling when I was laughing at us, so that is why Tammy is pulling faces and I am not!  I have no idea what is with the strange colouring of the photos but the machine produced two copies so we each got one so we were happy! :)

Bo Bunny Supplies :
Patterned Paper : Jamayka, Hannah, Cut Outs, Dorothy/Little Miss
Cardstock : Coordinating Double Dot in Chocolate dot
Stickers : Garden of Firends Cardstock Sticker/Little Miss
Chipboard : 12x12 Chipboard/Little Miss
Trinkets : Little Miss
Petals : Little Miss
Brads : Little Miss

I also did a sketch to go along with the layout.  This is my first computerised sketch so doing it was a bit of an adventure lol and did take a while and included lots of frustration!!!

Bo Bunny has also teamed up with Swirlydoos for their blog hop so if you would like to take part for a chance to win some fantastic prizes then head over to the Swirlydoos Blog.  Well that is it for today, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! :)

Little Miss and Guns n Roses!

I finally had a chance to play with the new Bo Bunny Little Miss range, I have had it a few weeks but have not had a chance to play with it until now!  This range is so gorgeous and girly and I totally adore it!  This layout was for a focus on chipboard assignment and the chipboard with this range is sooo cute and easy to use :)

The photo is my little sister when she was little, wasn't she cute! :)

Bo Bunny Supplies Used :
Patterned paper : Gracie, Jaquoya, Cut outs, 6x6 Paper Pad/Little Miss
Cardstock : Coordinating Double Dot in Chocolate Vintage
Chipboard : Little Miss 12x12 Chipboard
Stickers : Sweet Girl Cardstock Stickers, Dimensional Stickers/Little Miss
Brads : Little Miss
Jewels : Little Miss
Stamps : Little Miss; Camp-A-Lot

We went to a Guns n Roses concert on Tuesday night.  I was really looking forward to it as Guns n Roses are definitely a big band from my youth! :)  It was good but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I could have because of course as seems to be the norm for them they only came on at 11:15pm so they didn't finish until 2:15am and I was so tired and we had to get up for work and school runs the next day so we eventually gave up and left just after 1:30am.  Maybe if it had of been a weekend I could have coped with it better but I am clearly to old for that because I was shattered the whole of yesterday lol.  The actual music, sound and lighting was really good but I felt there were way too many instrumentals in between songs.  Yes the people doing the instrumentals are amazingly talented but there were just too many!  Anyway here are a few photos from the night.  We were sat way at the back because we like a direct view and I only took the small camera because I didn't want to lug the big one around so the pictures aren't amazing but I still like to take some each time!

This was how it opened!

This is one of the times Axl looked more normal with just a hat on, he has taken to wearing some very strange hats and glasses with a handle bar moustache.  I couldn't stand the look, he looked 100 times better the couple of times he ditched them!

There were lots of effects and fire puffs etc

Thin Lizzy was the opening act and they were really good :)

All in all the concert was good and definitely something I wanted to experience as after all it was Guns n Roses (well a couple of them anyway!) but I don't think I would go again as I don't think there is any appreciation for the fans, especially as about 6000 apparently left way before the end because it was just too late!  What I am really looking forward to is the Nickelback concert we have booked for November and they have Daughtry supporting them which is another of my favourite bands :)
